RhizoTech is a small business devoted to scientific and medical writing and photography, and artistic printmaking.
President Janet Yagoda Shagam is the author of several award-winning articles written for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and is an educator who has taught microbiology at Albuquerque T-VI and "Science Writing for the Public" at the University of New Mexico and at the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen, Germany.
Her latest book, "An Unintended Journey: A Caregiver's Guide to Dementia," was published in July, 2013 by Prometheus Press and has won first place in both the 2014 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards, Health Book Category and the 2014 National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest Best General Nonfiction Book for Adult Readers . Her book, "Regaining Bladder Control" written with Dr. Rebecca Rogers, was published in June, 2006, and is also available at Amazon.com.
She is also an artistic printmaker and is represented by several galleries around Albuquerque, including Park Fine Art in Albuquerque's Old Town. She has a studio at her home in Albuquerque, NM.
Her work was featured in an exhibition, Revealing Culture, at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
Vice-President Richard Shagam is also Chief of Computer Operations and is a retired optical engineer from one of the local national laboratories. He is also an avid radio control sailplane enthusiast and amateur musician.
